How we work
Step 1
Assessment
Before we start therapy, we need to understand what difficulties exist. This first stage usually involves:
- Making sure you feel comfortable working with us
- Answering your questions
- Recording relevant medical history and details of previous therapy
- Administering formal and/or informal assessments
- Explaining the results and how we can help
Step 2
Goal Setting and Intervention Plan
This is a vital part of quality speech pathology intervention. Once we have identified what difficulties exist, we will :
- Recommend what areas to work on
- Listen to your key concerns and objectives
- Set SMART Goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound) based on all the information
- Tailor a personalised therapy plan
Step 3
Intervention
Once goals have been set, it’s time to begin therapy. This process includes :
- Working with you to set a frequency that is achievable and affordable
- Delivering therapy in a way that is challenging, fun and engaging
- Giving regular feedback on the goals and adjusting them as needed
