How we work

Step 1

Assessment

Before we start therapy, we need to understand what difficulties exist. This first stage usually involves:

  • Making sure you feel comfortable working with us
  • Answering your questions
  • Recording relevant medical history and details of previous therapy
  • Administering formal and/or informal assessments
  • Explaining the results and how we can help

Step 2

Goal Setting and Intervention Plan

This is a vital part of quality speech pathology intervention. Once we have identified what difficulties exist, we will :

  • Recommend what areas to work on
  • Listen to your key concerns and objectives
  • Set SMART Goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound) based on all the information
  • Tailor a personalised therapy plan

Step 3

w

Intervention

Once goals have been set, it’s time to begin therapy. This process includes :

  • Working with you to set a frequency that is achievable and affordable
  • Delivering therapy in a way that is challenging, fun and engaging
  • Giving regular feedback on the goals and adjusting them as needed
